I wonder if some U.S. attorney could make a case of illegal bookmaking if they so desired against AIG's executives.

>>Obama, I like you, but this makes you look like a prize chump, with our money.<<

Yer finally catching on. There is no Democrat, there is no Republican. It's the Financial-Industrial complex (which includes all branches of the government) against everyone else. As the TARP shows, as the AIG/GSE bailouts show, as Porkulus shows. There are a small handful of current or ex-government officials who are trustworthy: Paul, Walker, Volcker (maybe), Kucinich, Warren....and every one else is on the other side. Against the American people. Simon Johnson's got it right, you've got to expel the moneychangers from the temple to enact a real solution. And that's just as impossible for O as it was for W (not that W was ever inclined to), at least with the likes of men in power like Geithner and Summers (not to mention the utterly useless Christine Romer). They are the modern-day equivalent of Ehrlichman and Heldeman in my book, if O had any inclination to do the right thing they will blind him to the possibility. And then claim it was "too bad to fix" in the first place.

Notice that Liddy slid in this garbage ON A WEEKEND with payouts ON A SUNDAY. How slimy is that? He just remembered to mention this little tidbit?

Baloney. Fire Liddy.

If we had just put AIG into bankruptcy, wouldn't that mean all of these contractual obligations go bust anyway? Why can't we do that now? Why can't we just hold all payouts (pull our billions so that AIG has no money to pay anything out) until all of this is thoroughly investigated?

The Treasury should come right out TODAY and tell any recipients of any bonuses or salary increases or 'compensation' for Bahamian vacations (remember that outrage?) that they should keep that cash available for repatriation.

Of course they won't which is why we need to get rid of them as well.
