I'm always nicer to wait staff than I am to beggars.

I have been accosted by teenagers demanding money in downtown L.A. They impede my way on the sidewalk, smoking cigarettes they can't afford, and give some sob story.

I tell them to go home to mama.

Sheesh!

That's true, Peter....but 2 million years ago, I was a cashier on the weekends (HS and college) at a local ski resort, and when we weren't swamped, did some table help too...I loved that job but I certainly do appreciate what some of them have to go through.
