And what would that be?

Do you think Obama has the stones to pull the trigger?

"Say they dropped a nuke on South Korea somewhere."

But, even this is insane. I think NK acts crazy on purpose, but it's not really insane. Because that act would END N. Korea.

And, even then, what would happen? Say they dropped a nuke on South Korea somewhere. Probably not Seoul, though. It would be a race between China, the US and Russia as to who would squash them first. Now Kim Jong-il may be crazy but he is far from stupid. He certainly knows that would be in the cards.

Why this reasoning escapes the wingers and michael is beyond me. There is something to that article RW posted.

Russia? Why in the world would Russia get involved.

And China? Besides becoming un-cooperative, I don't foresee any squashing. Besides, China would just let US get its hands dirty and heckle from the sideline (joining the Europeans and Russians there).

IMO, NK is testing how weak Obama is, probing if he the US guarantee of protective umbrella over SK can be weakened, or even proven worthless.

This would leave SK exposed, exposed to potential blackmail.

Joe

the nukes were a strawman i used. More likely would be land war and naval incidents. the north could overrun the south before they would be beaten back. 30k americans sit at risk. If there is going to be war, it should be on our terms, not theirs. Also nuke prolif big issue as i have stated in earlier posts.
