As one who struggles constantly with my weight, my comment would be that lack of knowledge or research is not the problem. I know how to lose the weight. I lack the will power.

Also, if these simple solutions are available but it is to no one's financial advantage to publicize them, wouldn't it make sense for the government to do so.

My vet told me a few years ago that she believed that 1/3 of the pets she treated were brought in because of their diet. She said that nearly all skin problems were caused by diet. We spent 2x as much on quality dog food and we rarely go to the vet.

Americans as a whole have awful diets. Save billions on food, and then hundreds of billions on medical. And kajillions on dieting.
