I pay the sales tax. If property taxes change, I'll pay more. Doubt that will happen until after Prop 13 repeal gets on the ballot (if ever). I'd vote to repeal it.

Income tax became a thing of the past when I retired, and I'm not gonna go back to work to support the state. If marijuana gets legalized and taxed, I'll rethink that last statement.

I grew up in California. In those days we had the best schools in the country and were so inexpensive I worked my way through college.

What happened?

After prop 13 everything went down hill. I left a second time, as I could see what would happen. The eventual breakdown of California's social systems.

Raygun trying to tear down the university system. Best in the world.

You want to see that equation in other states. Try any of he Southern states which all have low taxes and a huge undereducated populace.

Look at where they all rank in order of education.
