If people were able to shop for medical coverage across State lines, then you can be sure the insurance companies would lower their prices significantly in order to compete for buyers... it would eliminate the monopolies and create open competition... free enterprise works when you allow it to work... most people would be able to find a coverage they need and without spending a penny of tax payer money... Those who still cannot find a suitable minimal coverage could be available for a Medicare type plan which the government could make available to those still without coverage, these people could receive something like a Medicare card that would provide them with medical coverage and they could pay for it themselves... BUT, why create a mammoth government single parent type monster that obama has in mind when 90% of the people who already have coverage are very happy with what they have? There is no logic, rhyme, or reason for that... 40% of all government spending is wasteful, so cut out the crap and the government would have more money than it knows what to do with... also, cut out the 20% Medicare fraud, that amounts to a huge fortune of otherwise available cash that could be put to better use... Even the current so called stimulus package is only 5% stimulus, the other 95% is pork and payback favors to politicians so they could cut ribbons in their home towns, there is no stimulus at all, it's a hoax and a scam...
