Hawk I'm beginning to think you need to read up on how the hydro system works on the Columbia.

Grand Coulee is the primary peaking and dynamic regulator of frequency and voltage in the Northwest. They can go from 200 MW to 5 GW in a matter of a couple minutes and then back down again.

No thermal plant can do that!

clean hydro power?.

methane gas generated from the decomposition of vegetation washed into man made hydro electric reservoirs are responsible for 1/3 of annual, global green house gas emissions. Coal fired power plants generate far less green house gases per unit of energy produced than hydro power.
