I hope like hell he does. Because if he does, that's the end of the Obama administration. It will be "read my lips" all over again.

To sustain his ambitious health care program, Obama would have to raise the taxes to West European levels.
Absolutely no way around that. And here we talk double digit points on top of the current taxation level.
But then again, for that kind of money you guys get a European style health care program covering (almost) everybody.

Now look at the 'bright' side of that: Hundreds of thousands of new jobs would thus be created to administer this monster :)

Above I said almost, because even in Germany aro 5% of the population has no health insurance at all.

BTW, I pay 16.5k€ a year for health insurance for my wife and me.
Some - but not much - of that is tax deductible.
