It's a city of about 45,000.Not many other union jobs other than county or state workers.

The union and management are getting together again today...maybe one last ray of hope yet.The Union has until Saturday to re-vote.

Maybe it's all just messy hardball negotiations and something can be saved yet.

THe people in the union don't get it, do they? If a company doesn't make a profit, they can't stay in business, and people don't have jobs. It's that simple.

The above doesn't apply to government employee unions, unfortunately. Taxpayers and private businesses take a hit in a down economy, but not them. They get theirs, in ever increasing and overly generous amounts, regardless.
