To all:
Hong Kong market down 4% in early trading. One more down morn for DELL and I'll cover my short. I have a nice profit (from 100) and I feel that its time for a breather. The bad, DELL-specific news won't be out for weeks or months and with so much cash on the sidelines in low interest accounts and no really bad economic news I feel that DELL and the market will stabilize up in coming days. I'll be short again soon. Just hope the momentum players give me one more down day.

Good luck to all, its been fun
RJ

charles,

I suspect in a years time the sub-$1000 PC will be a non-event. It will have found its niche and its users and innovations will continue about its merry way. The sub-1000 PC's introduction couldnt have come at a more opportune time. DRAM glut, Intel inventory cycling down of the Pentium, etc.

I would imagine the margins of the sub-1000 PC are razor thin and only the big boys with deep pockets can sustain the effort of continual supply.

Will anyone want to upgrade to a sub-1000 PC in a years time? I dont know. Your thoughts please.

stephen

Charles - Thanks for the Montogmery Post. They touch on the same
key points that my buddies at Dell have been pounding in to me
since the introduction of the 1KPC. Business there "is" great,
no need to worry, this is just a market event.

Here's one of my past posts outlining Dell's avoidance of
the sub 1000 PC
