I don't see a coherent policy argument in your rant to discuss. If you have an actual proposal on how to deal with drugs that would be more effective than what we tried the last few decades, I'd be happy to hear it.

For now, all I see is to keep current laws, put conservatives in charge in every city and encourage religious belief among the inner city poor.

Doesn't impress me as a solution. If I was interested enough, I'd go find some cities with a string of Republican mayors and compare their drug and crime stats against comparable cities under Democrats. I doubt there would be much difference at all, but it's up to you to prove your assertion.

Trouble seems to be that every thing we as human being cannot cope with gets handed over to God. When I lived alone in my life I used to talk to God. It was a way of keeping me
from being too lonely and it also served a purpose that I knew I was not truly alone.

I used to recite that "Work is Love Made Visible." It was one of my favorite Gibran sentences... AND then I could really work hard... and persevere.

I have not distanced myself from God but he is under a different form now. More spiritual and there but not as religions paint him to be.

They make of God and Christ anything they want to serve their purpose.

AND Jimmy Sweigart, James Baker and some of these other
money hungry preachers have just turned me off..
I look for motives and follow the money.

Call me skeptical.

>>I dont think fining and throwing in jail pot smokers is very effective use of resources.

But most people are not just stopping at pot. Are we going to legalize meth, coke, heroine, etc?<<

Q -

Yes, I think we should legalize all those things. Because fining and throwing in jail junkies, coke heads, and tweakers is not an effective use of resources, either. With all the money spent to stop those things, they continue to be available. Anybody who wants them can get them, with a little effort.

In Portugal, making all of those things legal resulted in a net decrease in drug use, in addition to saving a lot of money for the government, reducing the overall crime rate, and allowing law enforcement personnel to concentrate on catching serious criminals.

I think it's a fine idea.

I, for one, would love to see the Columbian and Mexican drug cartels put right out of business, which is just one very beneficial thing that would immediately happen if we legalized, regulated, and taxed drugs in this country.
