I don't ridicule all conservatives or Republicans based on what the TP crowd does; I ridicule the TP crowd for their conduct. it's very clear in my mind. I think their whole movement is kinda nutso.

The day you see me calling McConnell or Boehner a teabagger, you will have a case.

The blanket condemnation of all Muslims is a staple on many other threads. If it bugs you, as it should, please go raise it over there. Except you will be mobbed by people jumping down your throat at the idea that hurling broad invectives at a billion people at once is remotely wrong.

You really should reconsider the appropriate venue for alleging unfair treatment.

I'm late to this conversation but if I understand the issue on the table it's that the term "tea party" is a derogatory term. You can see from this wikipedia entry that the term actually refers to the Boston tea party.

If that's the issue on the table, whether the term is derogatory, then I don't see the argument.

What I think is inappropriate is to ridicule or otherwise act negatively toward entire large groups of people because some members acted badly or said something bad in the past. If we used that standard, nobody would be exempt because we are all members of some group that may have some members that may have done something inappropriate or impolite.

That's admirable but also highly ironic coming from someone who posts primarily to the pros. Do you read what people post there? Do you ever call them on it? Ridicule and derision of all things insufficiently conservative have been pretty central to the Republican party at least since the rise of Limbaugh, near as I can tell. Compared to that magnum corpus of work, in volume and duration, the teabagger thing is pretty asymmetrical.
