yes, Allen, I agree.

The n-hand has huge potential, as long as the technical problems
have been solved (I'll do a quick and dirty analysis once they post
power numbers...)

I think a camera with a built-in nhand, announced at Comdex, will
be the best shareholders can hope for. Earnings estimates will
increase, as will the share price..

with regard to Syquest... By the time that story plays out, there
will be a million lawsuites and a bankrupt company that can't pay.
Then laws past to prohibit this kind of thing in the future. Just
watch and learn...

good luck! (I may take a day trip to Comdex...If I do, I'll report here)

BUZZ Lives

According to conference call it needed a little work.

Maybe someone slipped when writing the ad copy.

PC Connection catalog V 193E page 109.

All the usual information on a full page ad.
Nice technical write up of all the features.

BUtZ also has the notation of 'ESTIMATED SHIP DATE JANUARY, 1998'

Me thinks you may see just a few of these at COMDEX
being put through the paces.

The 'other' Joel

Yes there will be a Santa Clause this year.

RE: "Bigness" of announcement

Allen,

Reread your post and mine. Yes, a shipping n.hand
in a believably popular camera would be a big DEAL,
as you say, but for those of us who already heard
KE say in the CC that n.hand was going to be the
bigtime centerpiece at Comdex, it's not exactly
going to be a big ANNOUNCEMENT when the web site
says the same thing in about a week after all the
countdown theatrics. I'm as excited as you are
about n.hand actually hitting the pavement and
beginning to contribute to revenues. But I'm
not expecting the Iomega web site to tell me
anything more than that, with maybe the added
fillip that it's already in a shipping camera.
That's all. I'm trying to head off a whole raft
of posts in a week from the overoptimistic types
who'll say "gee, is THAT all, just n.hand, I was
expecting Iomega to have the Sistine Chapel on
the head of a pin for a buck-ninety-eight." Sorry,
folks, but I think the whole finger-countdown
act on their web site is just the drumroll for
n.hand for those who don't follow the company
as closely as we do. Believing that doesn't make
me nonchalant about the contributions a successful
n.hand rollout will make to the company's bottom
line, but it does make me think that you're not
going to get an ADDITIONAL blockbuster announcement
beyond a good n.hand rollout.

Boy, I sure hate that "n.hand" name. What's it
supposed to stand for anyway? "In hand?" Does
ANYONE on this thread think it's a GOOD name,
and if so, why?

Finally, does anyone recall Iomega ever saying
anything about the retail cost of an n.hand disk?
They've been pretty good at price points (though
too high with Jaz), but I haven't a clue what would
be the right point for one of these suckers.

Cheers, Tom (long IOM)
