Without a minimum wage and the welfare draw an open border might not be problematic at all.

Maybe, but we'll never see it.

I think the founders did a darn good job. I want to stay on that track.

There's nothing wrong with playing safe, in my opinion. Taking stupid risks, on the other hand, can get you smacked on some cliff under your paraglider after your adrenalin rush.

The thing is, the FREEDOM to take stupid risks is important, not the taking of them. The freedom to take stupid risks means you're free to take it safe as well. Both choices have consequences.

When the government starts telling me to eat brussels sprouts, much as I like them, that's the day I quit eating them.

You might have a point if it weren't for the fact that it's not just poverty stricken, hard working, honest people coming across our boarders. It's tons of drugs, groups of possible terrorists and paramilitary gangs, not the type we'd wish to welcome with open boarders.

"The whole secret of existence is to have no fear.

Tell that to the ranchers being threatened on a daily basis and who are afraid to go into town to get groceries for fear that their possessions won't be there on their return.
