Jozef,
<I guess we must have been in the dark ages about 7 months ago, before introduction of P-II, since we were all stuck with (what are now) mid-range level processors that just don't "cut it".>

Maybe you were stuck in the dark ages, but many of the rest of us
were enjoying 4-way Pentium Pro compute servers. Like Yousef said,
where are(were) the AMD and Cyrix servers? Why do you suppose there
never were any? Why do you think there aren't any now?

Are you entitled to a refund for your bug infested K6?

Jozef,

Re: "I guess we must have been in the dark ages about 7 months ago, before introduction of
P-II ..."

Let's try this one more time ... just like 7 months ago, there are NO
AMD/Cyrix servers. The problem is that the PPro server is superior as
compared to the other CPU's. Notice, we are not talking about the sub-$1000
market built by third tier companies (FrogLeap, CyberCrash, DingBat ...) that
are using the AMD/Cyrix CPU's.

One can't decide to selectively use a server for "less demanding" applications
like you can with sub-$1000 computers. If you want to use serious 3-D
graphics (Adobe PhotoShop ...), games (Quake ...) or FPU intensive
applications (SUPREME, Prolith ...), then you need a high performance
CPU (like the PII).

If the AMD/Cyrix CPU's are such a good processor for servers, then why
is AMD/Cyrix's market share lower for servers than for PC's??

Make It So,
Yousef
