I'm starting to really worry about SUNW. I think sun could be the next asnd or coms, the next well known hi-tech company that the street starts hating, and for good reason. I just finally got a sunw station and while it is nice and fast, the achilles heel is unix. Does sun really think it can get by with that dinosaur of an operating system in the 21 century? Unix should have been retired to a museum by now. There is no way sun can compete with nt with that joke of a system. They should have bought out apple and used the macintosh operating system which is better than windows. Or maybe they could write a new one. As it is, it seems inevitable that sun is doomed to a smaller and smaller segment of the market. What if anything is sun doing about replacing unix? I know HP and others are starting to sell nt computers and I think sun will have to go that route also. Maybe they can negotiate some deal trading off java for an nt license.

It was Liz ??? from Avatar Associates(I believe Marty Zweig started this firm). They control about 4 billion and are very respected on wall street. She said to avoid SUNW becuase of increasing competition from HP. She is bullish on the market in general and likes oil/drilling and retailing stocks. Home Depot was one of her picks.
