Funny thing, remembering back. We used TV like the movies....We'd watch a program or two, then leave and go play outside, play Red Robin, Kick the Can, or Hide and Seek....

Wow, does that bring back memories. Add in the Good Humor Man and you had a full life.

I remember Huntley-Brinkley and the local news being 15 minutes each in the early days but was surprised to see they didn't change to 30 minutes each until 1963, per Wikipedia.

I wonder what folks who now claim to "have Fox News on all day" would've done back in the '60s. Something a lot more interesting and useful, I would imagine. :)


the news on TV was at 6:00, for 1/2 hour with the local news either 1/2 hour before or right after the national news.
