Statistics can be revealing in many ways. What irks me in the top few percent is that my marginal tax rate is much higher than many in the top 1%.

With the super wealthy getting large % of income from dividends and capital gains, this drives down their marginal rate and their average rate.

Regardless the government needs to spend less, but it also needs to pay down its debt. I dont have any problem with millionaires paying more taxes. They have the money, the low income people dont.

I'm familiar with these stats, but I'm talking about tax rates for the uber rich. We're talking about two different things, hence talking past each other.
