That is exactly how I see it. Down needs to do a lot more down to be very convincing. I see 1275 area or higher holding should we get that far and then the bounce should be very convincing if the Buyers/Bulls are still in control.
I like your entry for a long but I always enter where I think it should bounce and exit if I'm wrong. I should have plenty of cushion, if we make it up to triangle...

Three-waver down on SPX. Today's action could be the start of wave 4 -- or the start of the new leg up to new highs. The low of the presumed 1st wave, near 1295 or so will be an area of important resistance. The Saga continues.
