Tom Trader(off topic)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your sincere and well considered posts. I trade and often look to your posts with the hope of tempering my own irrational exuberance or undue pessimism with regard to the market. They have been a source of comfort on some very ugly days from which I have emerged down but not out.

As someone who has lived in the Middle East, speaks the languages, and knows the culture intimately, I read Ike's posts for both his macro economic overview and other market insights. I have seen, time and time again, clashes which result from the slightest challenge to his "ideas", the result being elimination of dissent from his thread(to its own detriment). Yesterday was another such case.

Keep up your excellent posts Tom.

My Best Regards,

Teri

*****Off Topic*****

Hi Tom,

I admire the courage of your convictions on the Ideas thread.
I stopped following the thread on a regular basis after Ike's run in with Kevin because of the same cult-like atmosphere that you have described. You are usually very thoughtful and polite I am quite saddened that many of the posters of Ike's thread have chosen
to take shots at you rather than recognize that you were
putting forth a valid criticism. There is way too much of a lack of balance on that thread for my taste. That is a pity as Ike is indeed very talented at interpreting world events and the co-relation between world markets. I just find I don't have the time to weed through
all the extra emotional baggage on that thread.

I have always appreciated your posts and respected your
market views even when I have not completely agreed with them.
It is too bad this situation has become personal. I guess
the events of the last few weeks have unnerved people
and emotions are running high. Hopefully this time
people will understand the need for a more balanced mixed
of views on that the thread and the need for greater
acceptance of opposing views.

Hang in there and have a good weekend.

Harry

T Square...there's a bet against your trades on the

Idea thread...$5 to win $15,000!

I'm taking it...let's see.

Guy says you cannot document Nov 12 SPZ trade you made!

I wanted to know if there's a limit on the offer.

I can go as high as $1,000!!!

I say you made the trade and can be documented!!!

You with me on this?

Best regards...//dom

Quick question: The calls on DJX seem to be clustered around 80, puts around 75. I'm not sure how to interpret this, there is more action for the puts than the calls at 75.

Possibly, the market will rally to 8000, rendering all those 75 puts worthless as well the calls & puts at 80 (not much action on the 75 calls). I'm not perfectly clear on how that works. But I feel comfortable that the Dow will stay between 7500 and 8000 for the week.

Any input would be appreciated.

Harry
