as far as "owning you home" goes, you dont own it unless its paid for.

Even if your home and land are paid for lock, stock, and barrel, and you hold the deed, you still own neither.

As soon as you miss a property tax payment, the government can repossess ITS home and land. Likewise, if the government decides to build a freeway through your living room and you refuse, you will be forcibly evicted by armed agents of the state and paid an amount that the government arbitrarily decides upon.

Who's holding the strings of the government? The central bank and their varied friends and interests, of course. -ng-

Check the law to see if the landlord can come check, after reasonable notice, for violations of the lease agreement, unsafe conditions, illegal activity...

For my slavish refinancing when interest rates dropped over the years and increasing, not touching, my equity and $2500k/yr in property taxes, I have the title.

Now get off of my property.

I have owner residential rental property for many years and am well versed in landlord tenant law.A rental contract in no way gives a tenant the right to tell a property owner to get off "his" property.What it does is allows the tenant the right to "occupy said property to the exclusion of others" under the terms of the rental contract or lease.The property owner has the right to verify that said terms are being followed.Property owners have the right to enter "their" property with reasonable notification for a reason.(I can contact a tenant and tell them that I am going to inspect said property at a certain time for any reasonable reason)and can immediately enter property without notice or consent in an emergency or a situation that requires immediate attention.Laws governing a landlord tenant situation differ according to the jurisdiction.
Not only does a lease allow enjoyment for the tenant it allows the neighbors to not be disturbed by said tenant
That said a landlord is the one that draws up his lease and should protect himself with that same lease.
