I hear you, man. As a surgeon I am better off now than I have ever been but it is because I
have learned a bit about investing and trading, and have dug deeply into the world of finances
over the past 15-20 years.

I'm sure you are right about saving the govt money, the whole US population is years and years
from understanding that they can't have "everything for everyone" and not want to pay for it.
It's in our culture, but the cost of this is a disconnect from reality.

I work part time, as I value my time more than the money I could make from working more.
AFA priorities, work is way down there #4 or 5 behind spending time with family and friends,
playing music, walking my dogs, investing, gardening, and then I suppose work is next in terms
of "how I prefer to spend my time." I know I am lucky, but I earn much much less than most of
my surgeon peers, I just don't want to spend my time working when there so much more to life .....

BS! If this guy is so highly regarded in his field of medicin, he would know to say "their" instead of "there". That is where I stopped reading.
I am a horrible speller, for me that is a tell tell that this is fabricated.

"All Americans will have to live with less and pay more in tax."

At least you admit that this Reaganomics tax cut and borrow for the last 30 years has brought us to this pass! That's more than the Tea Partiers do.

I'm FINE with going back to the Clinton tax levels for EVERYONE. How about YOU?

i have one slight problem with your post , i do NOT believe it. <<A recent study by a Boston University proffesor found that plumbers make more after tax money in their lives than do physicians."" A recent study by ONE Boston University professor comes to that conclusion. i bet it could be shot down as BS.Max

This article by Kotlikoff himself says that doctors have more "sustainable spending" than plumbers by $423/yr. How did that morph into "plumbers make more than doctors"?

A noble effort trying to explain self sacrifice and responsibility but I assume you knew it is a wasted gesture.

Here is another dedicated MD. A saint to children suffering from chronic lyme due to the policies of the CDC and IDSA.

Nice post. One teensy weensy suggestion.

paragraphs.

Just break it up a bit.

Those dense blocks of text make my eyes hurt.

Thanks

(doctors are reputed to have horrible handwriting (my Dad was a prime example), I guess that may translate to typing as well?)
