Alex, this is bad news indeed, not only for SEG, but for the whole DD sector as well. It is not reading well. First the downgrade on WDC by SM and now this. The announcement by the DVD+RW group will add fuel to the fire too. All DD stocks I tracked have been down today (QNTM, SEG, WDC, INVX, HTCH, APM) except IOM and KMAG. Can anyone help me undertand why these two last stocks could withstand the downturn?

Alex and others,

Seagate's warning is another in a string that can be traced to the MELTDOWN in Asia. Nikkei is down 5% as I write this. Korea is in free fall, and so are Thailand and Malaysia. There is industrial overcapacity throughout the world. This leads to HUGE deflationary pressures that will be improted to the US. We will start moving towards a deep recesssion by the end of next year while GreenSpam is talking about inflation. As US companies keep pre-announcing weaker than average earning the average PE's keep dropping and so will DOW.

I know I have said all this already once on this thread, but a
review is the 'mother of all learning'. Look for a big downday tomorrow.

I think I will try to short AOL again. The sucker has life, but with
COMDEX showing PC/TV's why would anybody want to be on AOL anymore. Ok, these gadgets are still unaffordable, but I think I could stay short on AOL for two years, and make $73 on every share :)

Regards, Seppo
