Penni ~ I got just as riled, for just the same reasons. Physically angry. Especially it being seen by... And I also felt, that if she'd been doing her job, our hero would not have had to do what he did, and would still be free in the Land of Many Taters. Which maybe shows that if we don't do the right things ourselves, it effects others more moral than ourselves, who must take action or suffer consequences. Not something those at fault want to see, or live with; it doubling their sin and their righteously deserved guilt. I do it all the time.
