Pat,

As a long time AMTX holder I can certainly say " What a Long Strange Trip it's Been "...However I don't necessarily believe the saga has been played out. We're on the auction block at this point. 25 is a much friendlier # and look forward to someone stepping to the plate. Your efforts throughout this "gestation" period has been much appreciated and a heartfelt thanks for your time and research. As an aside watch the semi equipment makers going forward...$ to be made...

Pat, why do you think Amati is recommending this deal? I would have preferred at least some equity stake in TI to a simple cash offer. Didn't MCI turn down GTE's cash offer in favor of WorldCom shares. I'm hoping this offer finds other OPTIONS.

Michael

P.S. Pat, your acceptance is better than mine. It's more than money. Its about being a part of something special, and something that was destined to grow. Twenty dollars in cash bypasses all the reasons I invested in Amati. I would have thought the management would have understood that. What does the management know that we don't know?

They will have to pry the shares out of my cold, dead hands --and, on a positive note, at least you won't have to go out with the boy with oxford shoes and thick glasses whose father is the mayor of the town.

[Final Finalis?]

Hi Pat,

Ya know how some compositions never end? They just tease ya silly! What a remarkable little ditty Amati has been.
Have you had a chance to listen to Seamans CC? I thought I detected a little underlying current in the room that spoke to credibility, or the lack thereof....Did Seamans indicate no TI chip until the first half of 98 NOT the first quarter! Also, am I correct in assuming WSTL will have no VDSL solution? Could that not be important licensing income in TI's future. If not TI's future--who else? NEC?
I'll be waiting, with you Pat, for the last note to stop resonating--hopefully in 98! Meanwhile, I got some new margin and I feel like gambling....any tips?
