One other factor to consider is that RACE management knows it has a lot of explaining to do at the December shareholder meeting. I will be very surprised if we don't see at least one or two of these long-awaited "significant" announcements before then.

Shareholder meeting won't be in December. It's currently scheduled for 1/12/98 (as per page 2 of the preliminary proxy).

I wouldn't be surprised if since the closing of the preferred deal, the investors have been quietly trying to cover their short positions.
