Everyone blaming teachers for the failure of the kids have got it all wrong. It is a matter for parents and society. Build the schools and they will come. Minds are developed and most teachers do a good enough job.

And people who talk about teaching a skill are wrong. Every person's mind must be developed to work optimally. By and large, we are not born smart we become smart. Once the mind is developed it can do anything much quicker and better.

Watching Tom Friedman talk about how we must act collectively. That is what the right wing calls "socialism". We liberals call it working together. If we can get the country educated we will be fine.

I've had some really great teachers at community college. I took courses at night, and two of my instructors were doing the work I wanted to do in the day time. ( software engineering ).
