>>Nevertheless there is a clear relationship between per capita gross product and per capita energy consumption<<

Then it would make more sense to increase energy consumption as we would then have a greater per capita gross product. I think of energy as a way to improve ones standard of living and leverage ourselves into the future with greater strides than we have already achieved. Surely the greater per capita gross product could be properly invested to everyones mutual benefit.

(my electric bill is up with all my computers running so much of the time, the office is now the warmest room in the house!)

Why a geological period? I know of houses made of wood that are several centuries old. Trees live to several hundred years and in some cases thousands. In 300 years we might have a better idea about whether or not there is a real problem with greenhouse gases.

I've just found this thread and was wondering if anyone can help me. I am interested in knowing if anyone is working on the use of fuel cell technology in portable wireless devices (i.e. phones, Palm Pilots, Neutons, etc.).

Thanx for any info in advance.
