<<<<< because you haven't condemned the democrats who are using the government to attack Chick-Fil-A by not giving them business licenses based on their opinions on gay marriage.>>>>>

Well excuse me! I hadn't known they had done that. It is hard to condemn someone when you don't know. I seldom watch Fox so sometimes miss out on their latest rave. .........A business license comes from the State or City though doesn't it? Hard to condemn Obama for something that is clearly a State issue - but I do know that Fox does that on an ongoing bases.

Here's the deal; If Obama is the one holding back the businesses licenses - then I condemn him for it. A pure condemnation! If it is conservatives using this issue of business licenses that are really a local issue - then I condemn republicans. Now I guess I'll go look up the story to know who to condemn.

Until I see something from you that shows where you stand on this issue, you can get down off of your self righteous hobby horse and admit that you are down here swimming in the muck with the rest of us.

Jorj, I would recommend your post many more times than once if I could.

Lokeness is so stereotypical of the LEAST offensive liberal posters here. (As an aside, I define liberal posters on this thread as those who typically post stuff in the smarmy princess's echo chamber, and are basically trolling here.) They only come to argue way beyond reason, and twist facts to their own POV. Lokeness does that ad nauseam.

The voting constituency has pretty much told the country that they do NOT support Gay Marriage. I don't, but I do support their rights of union, along with traditional marriage.

I question the move the democrats have made in making this a part of their platform. Already the Black Church is making itself known that they will campaign against this plank.

My question is, why are the dems, knowing that this has a great deal of their own constituencies coming down against Gay Marriage, taking a strong position on something they should be soft pedaling?

<<What do you expect? I've actually given the gay marriage issue a lot of thought. You dismissed it because I recognize that democrats are using it as an emotional issue to distract from other issues that impact ALL americans.>>

You have it ass backwards. The Republican's are the ones who have used gay marriage to divide the country and win elections for a long time.

They are doing it now. Romney is using it now saying he is against it and it is on the Republican platform "defense of marriage act".

There is no defense of marriage act on the democratic platform!

Until recently most people were against gay marriage, so Republicans used it as a wedge issue. Which is why dems drug their feet on gay marriage and don't ask don't tell. And it was the Republican's always forcing the issue.

Bush won 2004 by demagoguing gay marriage and especially in Ohio. Carville told Kerrry he needed to denouce gay marriage to win Ohio as Bush was running massive anti gay advertising connecting Kerry to gay marriage.

Kerry said he couldn't do that and lost the election.

Aren't facts a bitch.
