Your posts seem to indicate that you have a vendetta against 3Com for some reason. Is it possible that you are a disgruntled former employee???? Let go in the merger with USBX perhaps? Your posts seeth with venom for this company, and I am sure that others have noticed it. You seem to think that each and every positive post has to be attacked with negative thoughts.

Why else would you post an article from the Chronical Business news from Oct 15, 1997, over a month old? And why else this former post:
True, making money is numero uno in my book. But it's also personal. I actually want to see this company fail. I would much rather make $ on the short side than on the long side with this stock."

I think you have lost your objectivity. Maybe its time for you to grind your axe someplace else.

Herb writes what amounts to a investment gossip column, and it generally makes for interesting reading. However, to use a 1.5 month old link to one of his dailies for news that has since been beaten to a pulp undermines your argument's credibility. Apparently the bad news is completely built into the stock price, if this is the best a short can come up with to make a point.

My guess is that 3com either pre-announces tomorrow or not at all. 3com's policy is that they pre-announce if they believe they will disappoint 10% or more on the downside. Consensus is currently 44 cents, so we're looking for something less than 40 cents. 3com execs will likely know this info by tonite.

I'm hoping 3coms chose to clean out the channel instead of trying to make the quarter. If they take a significant profit and revenue hit, thus leading to a plunge in stock price (and presumably making you happy), it will make for an excellent long term buying opportunity going forward. If they "hit" estimates, it probably means the channel stuffing has continued (or at least has not been corrected), which will likely preserve the current negative investment outlook and maintain the drag on 3Com's stock price.
