>> The government is nothing more than people paid to perform a service, most of which we actually need -- including teachers and police. <<

Wake up from the 50's. You don't know what's going on.

I am not afraid of teachers or the average policeman. I know many of these.

And people aren't all idiots that have been buying guns.

Reasonable people prepare even for things they hope will never happen.

Government mischief against citizens as whole is not the low probability event you believe it is. And neither is unrest that the government can't handle.

Look at how many are dependent today on government transfer of goods. It's been said 100 times -- doesn't make it any less true -- the government doesn't PRODUCE any of this stuff.

They simply transfer more and more of it to people who don't work.

Can you conceive -- even of a low probability event -- where there is no longer enough to transfer to keep the masses happy??

Sheesh, I hope I don't kick off tomorrow -- but I have savings and life insurance to take care of my son and wife in case something should happen.

Someone who simply trusts that our government will always be benign is .... well, unprepared and ignorant of history, to boot.

The govt is also the President of the US that signed a bill called the ADAA that allows holding american citizens indefinitely without due process under the guise of being involved in terrorist activities. Are you aware of that?

So the "needed police" in LA killed 52 people last year....

are you outraged about that?

the police nationwide are not required to report about the people they kill....no national records are kept.

are you outraged?
