I expect ADPT to meet or beat estimates. Its manufacturing plants are in Asia so its cost to manufacture should be down. I wonder if the analyst who cut estimates by 1 penny took that into account. Probably not. Big boys just trying to get in cheap.

Good luck.

Analog, if you are interested in Fibre Channel you might want to check out QLGC as they are more of a pure play, smaller, and trading at the same PE. Also very innovative regarding SCSI.

Kid, something else about Adaptec is that they virtually own the CD/R market which has yet to explode. They bought up the most popular package on the PC (Easy CD-Pro/CD-Pro) & the Mac's Toast. They added their own packet writing technology to them to eliminate the bufferring problems and make it as easy to use as any drive letter. And of course for any reasonable speed and throughput in recording 650MB CD's (& DVD future), you'll want SCSI. They own the ultimate bundling solution. I feel this year after the street drives up IOM as much as they can on the ZIP drive, they'll cash in & take it down by pointing out you pay about $15-$20 for 100M ZIP media vs $1-$2 for 650M blank CDs. If that happens, we may pick up a large momentum investor pool from IOM - a nice bonus if it happens but I think ADPT will do just fine anyway. It's always been just a matter of time for the prices to come down enough to pick a new high density removable media standard, IMO.
