This rally proves that people are just too stupid to think logically about all that. Our species has expanded in population but declined in intelligence. The next meltdown in written in stone and nothing will change until a superior alien race takes control or kills us.

"Better to encourage people to read the stuff of ..... Chris Hedges..."

Here's a recent speech in which he slams the Green Party and the Left generally for talking, theorizing and condescending too much. He says it's time to act. Now or never.

To your points, he'd agree w/ many, though he doesn't seem to have any faith in the electoral process any longer. It doesn't matter where you choose to confront the corporate state, just confront it.

I like your bullet points -- pensions are part of compensation and I would question whether the issue is compensation per se or deferred compensation that promotes lack of discipline in negotiations over compensation. But that is an aside.

What strikes me more than anything else is the total absence of anything having to do with the lack of personal responsibility on your list -- not one thing on that list points back at the 350 million Americans who seem to be to be at the deeper root of this rats nest -- care to comment on that?

BW,

Great list.

I'd add eliminate completely private prisons, for they are one of the worst ideas possible. We can never provide profit incentive for incarceration, for all the obvious reasons.

Jarod Diamond is such an interesting cat. I'm not completely sold on every idea he has, but most appear solid and almost all of them are interesting.
