All miners' problems are solved by a higher POG. ABX is one of so many examples of how absurdly low prices are. It doesn't mean that prices can't go lower, but typically the cure for low prices is low prices.

High-debt companies don't control their own fate; banks and government policy do. If we see rising interest rates, tighter credit standards, and the POG staying below the cost of production for any length of time, I can't think of anything ABX can do to "solve" that combination of problems. Well, I can think of some, but they would all be disastrous for current shareholders.
