"I've heard of Augustine's city of God, but like 99% of everyone today including you, haven't read it"

Shows your ignorance once again! All educated people have read 500-1000 essential books.

I read Augustine when I was perhaps 14. Before I had read The Mayor of Casterbridge...or The Writings of Thomas Jefferson.

The fact that you would make such a statement simply reveals what you are to people of learning. You are just clueless, and you do not even know when your foot is in your mouth. AIEEEE...

I've heard of Augustine's city of God, but like 99% of everyone today including you, haven't read it.

We understand your constant resorting to plodding polemics defending your pagan "God Man" derived theology & philosophies, but this really sets you back a few steps. You've never read Augustine of Hippo means you really must be deep in the throes of evangelical fundamentalism, we might excuse except that this is an evolution thread & most men of sciences are familiar with writings St Augustine.

Obviously you are missing out, of all the early Church Fathers it is Augustine that arms the Christian apologist with the deep thinking rationales to defend literal interpretations of creation that permit them not look foolish in the eyes of then prevailing beliefs & sciences of opposing materialist philosophers of his day. (same as it remains today)

Really no Augustine for you?

Or perhaps it is Augustine's famous open interpretations for a Genesis that does allow for Evolution of new forms that you don't wish discussed here? Do they teach you to avoid this at the Disco.org, non discovery site too?

That he envisioned the earth itself was endowed with the capacity to bring forth new creatures within the natural order which God endowed the seeds of his creation with?

Funny you should mention my not knowing St Augustine for spent time living living near that city in Florida and what young child would not be impressed or curious enough to not explore the namesake?

Its also of note this is where the Spanish searched (in vain) for the fabled Fountain of Eternal Youth, does that ring a bell about how myths & cults of immortality begin? How they endure, viewed & are pursued?

And Cities of God are envisioned & eternal kingdoms ?
