Although items like the communicator (which led, perhaps, to a relatively inexpensive "Star-Tac") and others were based on what Roddenbery thought the future would be like,

unfortunately the transporter was created because Paramount(?) did not want to pay for the expense of landing the Enterprise on a planet each week. We might have to wait awhile on that one. I'll betcha it'll be a humdinger of an IPO though.

it's time travel.

time isn't a physical thing that can be recreated or revisited.

in fact, the real reason time travel cannot be done is simple. time is really an illusion. how do you revisit something that doesn't even exist?

i hate it when star trek does time-rift type stuff. i got your time-rift right here.
