AAPL has risen to a double top at the $535 area. Also, a triple top at the
$540 area is shown over at the left. AAPL should have trouble getting through
these areas. If you see a $545 print on AAPL, keep your eyes open for an "all
clear for $600" message:

There is "make it too hard to be worth the effort" security.
You and I agree again.

The thing is, when Apple is satisfied with the level of security, I am pretty sure I will be as well. Apple is not perfect, but they do make the extra effort to try and make things right. I trust them and there are very few corporations that I can say that about.

It is like finger print technology, passcode, etc. can all be worked around. But, if you make it complicated enough, it just isn't worth it. Just the other day locally we had an incident that is probably common elsewhere but not here. A couple of guys pulled a gun on another and took his wallet with cash, cards, etc. and a few other things including his cell phone. Problem for the perps was that the cell phone (type not identified) had tracking software on it and allowed the police to track them down fairly quickly.

I guess in the future, crooks will wisen up and ask for "everything except your mobile phone". Another reason to put mobile payments on the cell phone and leave the wallet at home.

Of course - nothing is 100% secure - its all about risk management....

And the effective transmit distance is an inch or so with NFC - with a possibility of signal interception within a meter... (per the previous post) vs. bluetooth le that blast 200- 300 feet.

Bluetooth LE is very cool and will do incredibly well.... but it much more risky than NFC for financial transactions.
