Somalia is run by clans of tribal warlords who rule with guns and an iron fist. Correct. That is what happens when you have a weak government. Look at Sicily. There was very little presence of the Italian government after they annexed it. So the Mafia grew up as a replacement. They started as hired protection against criminals. They expanded from there, along with their non-traditional ways of raising funds. Power vacuums get filled. Often those that fill them aren't very nice people. The closest we have come to a libertarian paradise was during the settling of the West. People couldn't wait for some structure, the coming of a sheriff was a really big thing. That was because there were a lot of bad people with guns who preyed on the settlers. It eventually took the military to stop them. Every time it has been tried, there have been strongmen taking over. There is no reason to expect this to change.

no one said it was a libertarian "paradise" the point is it is total unregulated "free market" the "magic hand" of the free market rules there this is what the libertarians preach leads to nirvana unfortunately it only leads to nirvana for .01%
