Max:

You don't get it I.E. X.x will disappear. The browser will become a function of the OS. How can the government dictate the functionality of an OS? Is Janet Reno a software engineer in drag? If they can stop MSFT from doing that does that mean no one else can imbed a browser into their OS. I am sure that's what Mac will do with their Rhapsody if they are smart.

Max,

Could you elaborate ... is Joel Klein with the DOJ and that's his interpretation of the judge's decision or is he with the federal court? To me it makes sense that if you can't tie Win 95 and a browser you can't tie Win 98 either. Jeez they might have to compete against Netscape on a level playing field ... novel experience for the Redmond guys. As you may have picked up, I'm a bear on MSFT ... for a number of reasons, not just Janet Reno ... have a $75 target assuming that this overall bear market grinds on for a while.

regards, Mike

RE: "The court's decision was very clear,I.E.can NOT be a integrated part of windows 98."

Are you sure? Or does it merely prevent MSFT from requiring the integration of IE with Windows.

Big difference.
