Starvation. Lots of people (and animals) get to enjoy it- and not just the religious.

If you think about it, from an evolutionary point of view, you could see why it might be helpful for an animal to jump start itself when it is suffering during a time of extreme deprivation. That might increase the odds of survival, right? The study was done in mice- do you think the mice were praying to their mice God as the lab guys starved them? Or is it more likely this is just a biological phenomenon (which of course, you can ascribe to a creator, if you swing that direction, and find evolution too "simple" and just really need more complexity)
