I don't control Alaska's wealth. I could say Arkansas should use their money. It is that silly. If you tried to organize a society with your thinking it would be a mess. That is not a serious idea. You just made that up with no attendant logic. You made it up because it was something you thought you could throw at me.< Well, I think we were discussing "ideology", not the actual implementation of such a concept. And I am sorry if you think I "made it up so I could throw it at you". My apologies if you feel this way. I only find it interesting because you attempt to present yourself as a "Bleeding Heart Liberal". You know, the whole.... we are a tribe, and the tribe should work as a combined entity to provide what is best for the "tribe as a whole". Shared responsibility, and those that have more resources, share those resources with those in the tribe that have fewer resources. Bleeding hearts believe the "Tribe" is our world as a whole. On the other end of the scale you have the Conservatives that believe that "self-responsibility" is key, and that providing for "their tribe" terminates and the end of the branch of the family tree. Once you have a "definition" of "Who get's included into your version of "the tribe", then the "Bleeding Heart Status" dissolves. Is "Your Tribe", your family? Your Town or Village? Your County? Your State? Your country? Or is the the world as a whole. Look, I am quite a bit further Right than you purport to be, but I can tell you that I am in complete agreement with your ideology here. Alaska made good decisions, made short term sacrifices for long term benefits. The acted "responsibly"... So do I think Alaska should "Share their wealth" they set aside for the children in their sate, with other children in other states? Hell no. Just as I don't see why I should shoulder a higher percentage of the tax burden because I have made "good decisions" and "made sacrifices early in my life, that have reaped rewards later in my life. The only difference between you and I, is the definition of the boundary lines. Mine ends at my town/community, yours ends at the State Line. So actually, our "ideology", is pretty close, and is Far Further Right than "Bleeding Heart" status. So while you may look in the mirror and 'fancy yourself as a Bleeding Heart Liberal"... Claim to others that you are a "Bleeding Heart"... In actuality, your "ideology" as expressed here.... is far, far to the Right of such a position. You can of course chose to deny it, attempt to "justify it to yourself", but the evidence is pretty clear. Remember... Don't take it hard.. Happens to lots of old Hippies. :-) And so it goes, PCSTEL
