The return comes only when applied on the factory floor..." I didn't realize that when we state "technology buys" we are implying they are for "pilot lines". I guess I had been assuming they bought "technology buys" for the whole fab, more or less. If these past buys have only been for pilot lines, then a good number of purchases could be ahead. Folks, I have two questions which hopefully somebody on this thread can answer. 1. How can the spot price for DRAM drop so fast ? The spot price is currently around $2.10 !!! Is there any particular event which caused this ? Either demand dropped very quickly or production ramped very quickly.......No ? "Dataquest said prices of 1-by-16-Mbit DRAMs had plunged 26% to 29% in two weeks, which it called "a fantastic drop" coming on top of a 30% price fall in the preceding month" techweb.cmp.com 2. Also when the BTB is published around 17th of this month is the BTB for north America only or is it a global figure ? Thanks JC.
