Nice summary! That is the sort of post that makes this a good forum.

During the 2013 double bottom, I decided to buy emerging markets to diversify from US and to get exposure to commodities. I think these sell-offs are opportunities to buy funds with good dividends that help with the volatility.

I've been adding to this when we get big spikes down using my profit taking in the large cap US stocks like AMAT, Intel, even my big gains in XLF... better diversity than XLE but I might also consider that after we read about bankruptcies and other signs of the typical oil bust cycle ending. That might come when Boone stops talking about 200 ehrl...
