Rick, this looks a very interesting experiment to me! I am a rookie and after having read your post, I tried to work out the entry point to short AMZN, based on the 200-day MA minus 10%. Where can I find the charts for the 50 & 200 MA? Any websites which I could use?
Maybe you would be so helpful to let me know what the AMZN entry point would be, according to experiment 2.

Thankx

Michael

On my request Insight Information of Avid Trading studied the AMZN chart for me and perhaps you could compare the outcome of their analysis with your TA-50/200-day MA interpretation:
"AMZN needs to close above 56-3/4 to confirm upleg intact. Close below 49-1/2 is early warning and close below 48 is confirmation of sharp downleg to follow. Upside potential to 64, then 70. Downside target once stock is broken: 37, then 29."

In a press-release Amazon said today that the Barnes&Noble--AOL commerce agreement has NO effect. Amazon announced a 3-year exclusive bookseller agreement with AOL in July of this year.

I am quite confused now. How would AOL be able to enter an exclusive agreement with AOL in July and enter the next agreement with rival
B&N half year later?

Maybe someone could explain.

<<I expect one more feeble test of the 200-day MA before it drops heavily.>>

Would one be able to work out the bottom with TA? Also..a drop could be a false break down, after which the stock could quickly recover!
To predict the direction of a stock is one (difficult) thing to do, to identify how high it will fly or how low it will go..that's even tougher. Please let me know if you have been able in the past setting -- successful - targets for your trades by using TA.

Thankx,

Michael B.

Hi Rick:

Regarding TA, what signals are you looking at to close out a position? It is hard enough for me to decide to go long or short, harder still to close out the position once taken.
