So whats the predictions on earnings for this quarter? First call has the average at a loss of 10 cents. I think its going to be worse than that. And what impact will this have on price considering its below book( whatever that is?)

SOX needs to drop to at least 200 considering the environment

Mark,

Curious at how you arrived at the 200 number as a bottom. Many companies are trading at historic lows. WFR is currently trading at a PSR of .6. Many others in the sector are also trading below parity. KIM that SEA represents ~8% of chipmaking. Take them out entirely and the result would bad, but not as bad as currently reflected in current prices IMHO. AMAT gave guidance of $2.08-$2.15 after the SEA crisis had begun; there are order cancellation assumptions factored into their eps forecast already; JM and Co. aren't idiots. We have seen a few push-outs but have also heard that many Korean Cos. are anxious for their tools per SFAM's CC(note that I am passsing along what I have heard). Sentiment is now the overriding factor as all have rushed for the exits at once. Oliver Wendell Holmes in one of his rulings on free speech said that free speech does not extend to yelling fire in a crowded theater. My advice is never go the the theater with a securities analyst.

Regards,

Brian

The SOX broke 200 today. I know it looks ugly, but I think it's time to break into the piggy bank if you handle holding 18 months.
