All I know is the quiet, humble, 'good' Christians have allowed the anti-abortion, bible-thumping, creationist, Mulsim-hating 'disruptive' fundamentalist Christians to grab all the headlines and the right-wing political power without much of a peep. The only exception seems to be the new pope, who even the agnostics like me LOVE.

It's similar to the criticisms of the majority of 'good' Muslims. They NEED a pope, instead of their gaggle of imams.

If you look at Scandinavia, or Germany, or the Netherlands, or England- to name some of the least religious countries, they're great, and their main problem right now is with the religious minorities they've let in. Religion IS a problem. That it might have done good (or cured some of the ills it caused) doesn't mitigate it. Without it we'd have one less division- and since it's a division based on fantasy, that would be a Very Good Thing.
