Your thinking here is sound, and that was a very good post. To be honest, I haven't made up my mind yet whether inflation is overstated or understated -- and that is a critical point. Holman Jenkins wrote a very good piece in the Wall Street Journal Wednesday that makes a very good case for those who claim inflation is understated. I don't entirely agree with him, but there is enough meat there to make the argument.
I have to tell you though. I called $338 POG as a low, and I've been blushing some ever since.

Gabriela,

Wayne Angell was interviewed by Dobbs on CNN Tuesday evening and said that he expected the price of gold to move slowly to a bottom of $260.00. I think he said he expected it to bottom in the first half of 98.

Nice analysis of the Wayne Angells article. I agree with your point that we may be near bottom.
