Mohan,Steve, Ed, Kai etc - Calling Any Expert out there.

Okay - I know someone (family memeber) who is in the market for a Home Computer (Probably like thousands out there) and would like to advise them on the best value (of Course Compaq). What should I recommend from these standpoints:

Reliability, Longeveity (tendency to get obsolete), Features, Cost etc.

I did a survey yesterday and yes Compaq's are in demand. But at a Circuit City in San Antonio - the floor clerk was pushing Packard Bell as the best value???? My first thought is what is this guy's incentive here? He also said that the CPQ microtowere were without fans and could heat up?

Anyway, I appreciate any and all advisors. Am essentially looking at the Presario 4500 and 4800 Series..

Thanks in Advance and keep Posting (Mohan I do enjoy your links to India)
