Dale, re: Herb Greenberg

Dale,

I agree with you 100%.

As stupid as this moron is, I am disappointed that Iomega doesn't do a better job in addressing these naysayers. IMO, their IR dept. is pitiful. That is their biggest problem, by far.

You're right. They could take the time to answer HG and perhaps make a friend in the process. It couldn't hurt.

But they don't. Oh well. Life goes on.

Dale, we have heard that before from Greenberg. He's not interested in the truth. We have heard IOM address the alleged Jaz drive failures before in some forum, whether it was a CC or e-mailed response to one of the posters here (remember when putting your Jaz drive too close to (a) the monitor (b) the phone (c) your cat ruined the media?). In my opinion, he is not interested in the truth and wouldn't believe it if it came from IOM anyway.

Dale, I agree that with Herbie and IOM, it has become an ego thing. Herbie doesn't like being snubbed, and IOM sees no point in catering to a man whose print record suggests he would just unfairly distort anything they say to him. I don't know how they can break the impasse, but I wish they would. No one needs the kind of negative publicity Herbie specializes in. But I suspect, all anti-Herbie carping aside, any attempt at bribery would backfire horribly. Herbie is an egotistical man, but I don't think he is corrupt.

Dale,

Some of the returned Jaz drives appear to have ended up in Chicago. Electek is advertising refurbished drives (internal) for $199.

Also I noticed that in our area Best Buy is selling new Zips for 99.99 ($30 mail in rebate) and Office Depot has them for 99.95 (no rebate necessary).
