I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the interesting information being shared on this thread. I am a newcomer to TA and have much to learn, and appreciate the mix of technical analysis and fundamentals being contributed.

I wanted to bring to your attention a stock which I admit I have a position in for a portfolio which I am managing, so I am not particularly unbiased. Nevertheless, the company, Wegener (WGNR) has made a very nice move today, and may be of interest to the participants/analysts on this thread. Wegener manufactures sattelite communications equipment. There are approx. 12 million shares outstanding, with about 6-7 million in the float.

The stock closed at 1 5/8 today, up 5/16. The company announced earnings of .02 for its first quarter ending 11/30/97, which follows a loss of .19 per share for the prior year ended 8/31/97. The company did earn .03 per share for its first quarter of `97.

The company has had several recent announcements of big orders for its equipment, including Fox and Turner Broadcasting. Here are the links to these announcements.

Here is the link to Wegener's 10K for 1997, in which they showed a loss.

I like the company's prospects because they have already booked enough orders which if shipped in the current year will cause their revenues to increase by 10%, and that doesn't count anything booked and shipped from here on in.

From a TA standpoint, I have noticed that a company has to make an upward move before it seems to be trending positive. I would think that today's move, if sustained, would render good technicals.

Anyway, I thought there may be some interest, and that is why I offer this for your consideration.

Keep up the good work, and may you all have a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year.

David
